Strange Interlude (film)


Strange Interlude is a 1932 American PreCode drama film directed by Robert Z. Leonard and released by MetroGoldwynMayer. The film stars Norma Shearer and Clark Gable, and is based on the play Strange Interlude by Eugene ONeill. It is greatly shortened from the play the stage production lasts six hours and is sometimes performed over two evenings, while the film runs the usual two hours.

To have the child she wants, but cannot have with Sam, she has a secret affair with Ned Clark Gable, who wants her to leave Sam. Gordon Evans Robert Young is the result of the affair, but he does not know Ned is his real father. Nina continues to play with the emotions of all three men and devote herself only to Gordon.According to MGM records the film earned 957,000 in the US and Canada and 280,000 elsewhere resulting in a profit of 90,000. ........
